Although many remember Lana Turner for her exciting personal life we can't forget her wonderful performances in films like IMITATION OF LIFE (1959), PORTRAIT IN BLACK (1960), and THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE (1946). Discovered at the ripe old age of 17 in a Hollywood drugstore, Ms. Turner quickly became a popular actress as well as a popular wife. She was married eight times, twice to Steve Crane. In 1957 Ms. Turner was finally recognized by the Academy with a nomination for her performance in PEYTON PLACE (1957). In a publicity photo she wore a unique ring featuring a blue center stone surrounded by 28 small diamonds.
