The original road trip
Lily Claudette Chauchoin was born in Paris on September 13, 1903, and moved to the United States with her family when she was three. Gorwing up Claudette longed to play on Broadway and wasn't the least bit interested in Hollywood. When the Depression closed most theaters in New York she headed west to try her luck in films. After the usual small parts her career took off with successes like TONIGHT IS OURS (1933) and CLEOPATRA (1934). And then there was IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT (1934) with Clark Gable. Perhaps one of the best films of its' time it won the Best Picture Academy Award and the Best Actress Award for Ms. Colbert. In countless publicity photos she showed her unique sense of style both in fashion and jewelry like this stunning canary diamond stunner. Sizes 5-10.
